Clipping the poles into place can be a risky manoeuvre with some of the budget shades on the market, this isn’t the case with the quickshelter, it clips easily into place without any pesky skin pinching happening – personally I am a fan of the press lever height adjustment also. The 500D UPVC Coated Polyester roof is quite thick and although our shade has only had a few months use, looking like the day we got it out of the bag. The frame is super sturdy and even when brand new, it is easy to erect with relative ease. Not stupidly tight and difficult to fit the frame in, has good wheels, solid zippers and quality handles to carry around. Whatever you get, just make sure it has that - its worth paying more to get.-Kevin. You can buy EZ-Ups with the aluminized backing.

This meant that the Quik Shade blocked more light, plus the UV, making it much cooler to be under the Quik Shade. The first thing I noticed with the Quickshelter is the bag, thank you team – this bag is perfect. The Quik Shade has an aluminized backing, the EZ-Up does not. It was a quick, easy and simple process to get the shade printed and before long it landed at our doorstep. We opted for the Quickshelter and had it completely custom printed by the team. Discover how we’re leading as a global innovator and manufacturer in the outdoor products space. If you want the best of the best, grab their Australian-made Quickshade, but for us, we were after something that will stand up to rigours thrown at it while sticking to a budget. Today, our company boasts several top-name brands, including: Arrow Storage Products, Camp & Go, Quik Shade, RIO Beach, ShelterLogic, ShelterTech and SOJAG, and the licensed brand Tommy Bahama. The team at Quickshade made it clear that this was their sharper priced version sourced and imported. After a quick look on their site, I was alerted to their new Quickshelter shade. We headed straight to the top, when you think pit shade, you think Quickshade. We were searching for something that was high quality and custom branded. At a launch last summer, an EZ-Up which apparently was not stacked down properly tumbled end over end and into a spectator’s car, causing minor damage but it cost about $800 to fix it.The market is littered with pit shades these days and it’s hard to decipher between the good and the cheap and nasty. I like to hammer the stakes in at a sharp angle, nearly 45 degrees, which makes it harder for a stake to pull out than from pounding them in close to vertically. In any case, always stake down your canopies. If my EZ-Up Sierra goes bad, I’ll definitely replace it with a First Up. Wal-Mart has them, currently for under $89. That’s part of why they are easier to set up, and definitely why they are easier to take down.

The First UP design has the locking pins as part of an external assembly, both for the top portion and for the leg extensions. /rebates/2fshop-by-brand2fquik-shade&252fshop-by-brand252fquik-shade26tc3dbing-&idshelterlogic&nameShelterLogic&ra2. Also, most other canopy designs have the pop-out locking pins on the inside of the leg, where it is possible for the locking pins to get stuck inside of the leg and not pop out. But it’s a lot easier with the First Up than others.

When trying to lock the canopy, the last six inches or so is usually pretty tough to force up and lock. The First Up is EASIER to put up than any of the others. We usually help each other set up canopies, so I’ve had experience with a number of canopy types. Two club members have a First Up 10 x 10 canopy, which is a true 10 x 10 (vertical legs). I got it for $50 as a fall close-out at Harbor Freight in 2004. I myself have an EZ-Up Sierra, which is one of those 10 x 10’s that actually is close to an 8 x 8 (since they go by the leg footprint and the legs are angled). Our club members have a variety of canopies, EZ- Ups, QuckShades, and First Ups.
